LUTHER
His translation of the English bible into German shed a new light on Christianity and allowed for provisions of the German language. His hymns and dedication inspired congregational growth and growth as a religion but because of writings about Jews his “teachings” therefore become controversial. He agreed with Hitler and wrote about how the Jews should have all their material items and freedoms just ripped away from that, those writings were used for the Nazi’s so scholars consider his legacy contentious, they refuse to see how something great came from someone who could help someone so vile.
Martin Luther began the Lutheran movement, a branch of Protestanism. His teachings said that salvation could only be obtained by following Jesus and that following the churches teachings was unnecessary. He said that the Roman Catholic Church was corrupt in the way that they obtained money and power by preaching. He said that no longer saw what was right but twisted the bible to work for them. The Roman Catholic Church found this as a problem so they demanded that Martin Luther retract his teachings and all his works would be destroyed. Martin Luther was then sent to trial and excommunicated by the church.
